The beauty of the world deserves to be experienced, from simple nature hikes to exquisite vegan tours. Not only are you taking a break from your regular way of living, but you’re also immersing yourself in the wonder of the natural world, from the vivid greens of forests to the deep, mysterious blues of the seas. Our time indoors shouldn’t make us forget that the world is beautiful and worth exploring. Welcome to this week’s Travel Tuesday blog.

This week, we’ve got a great selection of photos to show you, gathered from the galleries of the great people of Instagram. We’ve got waterfalls, islands, mountains and so much more for you to feast your eyes on.

Ready? Let’s go!

Our first pick of the week belongs to @clara.gmy, presenting an island cliff in Guadalupe. There’s a sense of age and depth to the weathered stones and thin, vein-like branches in this slice of the world, a feeling that, while different from the awe-inspiring size of the world’s mountains, evokes a sense of melancholy. Maybe it’s because many of us haven’t heard the sounds of crashing waves, or smelled the saltiness of seaside wind in a long time.

Our next pick belongs to @danuwiitz presenting the enduring ruins of Ayutthaya in Thailand. Once the capital of the great Kingdom of Siam, Ayutthaya now lingers as a ruin, the architectural marvel of Thailand’s early civilization persisting even as the world changes around it. Despite the loss of its place as a capital city of commerce and prosperity, Ayutthaya retains its dignity as a place of culture in the present day.

This breathtaking shot of Shiraito Falls belongs to @eric_eff, a true marvel of natural phenomena. Here, the water takes on an ethereal quality, from the shimmering surface of the pond to the light-like texture of the cascades on the cliff. We can only imagine the soothing sounds and sensations that come from visiting this serene place in the flesh.

@globe.rocker presents a striking shot of Ollantaytambo, particularly its historic archeological site. We see that the structure of this ancient Inca fortress seems to have blended with the rough stones of this particular mountain, as if in “death”, the building itself rejoins nature and becomes embedded in it. Not unlike how natural creatures return to the earth after death. Really, looking at ruins makes us think about our place in the grand scheme of things.

Our final pick of the week belongs to @ca_srikar, showcasing a gorgeous image of Nanda Devi National Park. The grass of this vale just looks so bright and full of life, while the veil of clouds passing through the peaks above suggests the great height of the locale. We would absolutely love to walk through such places in the near future.

That’s it for this week. Be sure to visit us next week for a fresh batch of photos to admire and be inspired by. When it’s safe for you to travel again, why not showcase your own adventures?
