Tomorrow may be a mystery, but there’s a lot to look forward to. If you ever feel like the day has become a monotonous cycle, don’t forget that while beautiful things like the rising and the setting of the sun keep repeating themselves, people don’t have to. Plus, things are changing for the world, so you can look forward to new chances to explore it. Ready your itineraries and be inspired by this week’s Travel Tuesday blog.
This week, we’ve got a fresh batch of photos to show you, fresh from the galleries of the great folk of Instagram. We’ve got waterfalls, sunsets, and so much more for you to see.

Ready? Let’s go!

Our first pick of the week belongs to @lloyd.vas, presenting a captivating sunset in Goa. This beach is full of mossy stones, while the waterline in the distance is quite serene, almost blending with the gray sky. The fact that the sun just peaks out of the distant mountains makes it look wonderful, a ball of light that, while denied its incandescence by the cloudy skyscape, continues to be bright, shining on this calm beach.

@jsstegen presents the Col de La Forclaz, a scenic mountain pass with a dynamic set of slopes. Here we see a variety of consistent yet changing hues, from the light blue of the upper sky to the varying greens of the foreground and background trees. Not to mention the deep shadows cast over the slopes, the presence of the adjacent mountains obscuring the woodlands there. The imagery of this mountain pass feels both familiar, and different. We’ve seen many mountains before, but every time we visit a new one, it’s as if the mind compares and contrasts the vistas of the past and the vistas of the present.

Gaze upon yet another beautiful sunset, this time in Punta Chame via @hennisvisuetti. This is a very small stretch of land in Panama, a place of beaches near a small community, but this image here elevates the locale into something bigger and better. The sunset alone is just exquisite but combined with the wind-blown grass that catches its golden radiance, it looks absolutely stunning.

@afirdworld presents another glorious waterfall from Asia, a many-tiered cascade in Indonesia called Tumpak Sewu. Not only is it a beautiful sight to behold, a series of shining strands of mountain water traveling down the rocky, dynamic slope, it’s also near another beautiful natural Indonesian locale. Semeru is an active volcano, and it is where Tumpak Sewu flows down. It goes to show that nature’s beauty compliments and creates each other.

Our final pick of the week belongs to @cicadaappreciationsociety, showcasing another great sunset shot, this time in Pawnee National Grassland. Valleys in national parks are great and beautiful, but there’s also a calm sense of wonder that can only be achieved by a place where the horizon is almost unobstructed. Here, the pale pink and blue of the sky can be likened to a set of brush strokes, with the gentle plateaus only slightly breaking up the linear horizon. Imagine feeling the wind and light in this wide space, between day and night, as the sunlight paints the sky one last time before the darkness comes, until the sun returns.
