Despite the distance between the various countries, landmarks and locales of the world, we still exist beneath the same sky. Our world is a beautiful world, from its seas to its valleys, from its ancient cities to its modern man-made marvels. Our vegan culinary cruises aim to catch up on lost time by exploring as much of the world as we can, someday in the future. Welcome to this week’s Travel Tuesday blog.

This week, we’ve got quite the gallery in store for you, gathered from the great collections of the folk of Instagram. We’ve got mountains, waterways and so much more to show.

Ready? Let’s go!

Our first pick of the week belongs to @intuitionandkindness, presenting a stark and serene photo of Kosciuszko National Park. Here we see a windswept plain, the grass bent as if suggesting the presence of a breeze when this image was taken. Plains like this don’t feel complete without that chill sensation of the wind moving against your skin, as the sky opens up above you.

Our next pick belongs to @michaela_recuit, presenting the enduring expanse of the Khertvisi Fortress. This Georgian citadel weathered the ravages of time and now stands proud in the village where it took its name. It is the oldest fortress in the country, a remnant of an older time, like a slice of an earlier century placed atop a mountain. To think that the stones on this fortress are older than any of us right now.

@david_lef presents a spectacular view of Mont du Dome, showcasing the verdant forests around this great Canadian mountain. Part of the Northern Cordilleran Volcanic Province, Mont du Dome’s serene exterior belies the volcanic potential beneath, as with all mountains. Mountains are paradoxical in that regard. On one hand, they are the highest natural points in the world, touching the sky with their snowy peaks. On the other, they are flaming gateways into the deepest parts of the earth, far beneath their life-supporting surfaces.

The temples and shrines of Cambodia never cease to amaze us. @sokhomchhoum provides us with another great photo of such a temple, one called Preah Ko. Preah Ko, or “Sacred Bull”, is a religious place located in the ancient city of Hariharalaya, former capital of the Khmer Empire. Despite the city itself being lost to time, its remnants swallowed by the jungle, Preah Ko still endures, the architecture and designs providing an insight into the kind of culture of the ancient Khmer people.

Our final pick of the week belongs to @juan.manuel2896, showcasing a sunset in Hurlingham, in Buenos Aires. This is a photo of a canal, its sides covered in greenery and its waters reflecting the late afternoon sky. The sunset really does encourage nostalgia, because while Buenos Aires is a world away for most of us, it’s easy to imagine a similar orange twilight in the towns and neighborhoods of our birth.

That’s it for this week. Be sure to visit us next week for a fresh batch of great vegan food photos to admire and be inspired by.
