Exploring the world is the dream of many people around the globe, a dream that may have been halted by the current situation, but will surely return soon in the future. From land-based expeditions to culinary cruises, the various avenues of adventure provide us with a chance to enjoy the world’s beauty up close. Welcome to this week’s Travel Tuesday.

This week, we’ve got a great collection of photos for you, gathered from the great galleries of Instagram. We’ve got lakes, caves, and so much more to showcase.

Ready? Let’s go!

Our first pick of the week belongs to @_exploratricedumonde_, showcasing the idyllic waterway of Calanque de Port-Pin. There’s something magical about the calanque, those natural landscapes found along the Mediterranean. The slight shadow on the left side of the waters really gives a sense of texture to this calm afternoon shot.

This shot of the Azores by @numinositytravels looks quite striking, the watery caldera surrounded by various shades of vivid and lively green. This autonomous region boasts a variety of such calderas, the serene remnants of eruptions past becoming places of life and wonder. Walking through the Azores must really feel magical.

@vankatakolev presents this atmospheric shot of Melissani Cave in Greece. Once believed to be the abode of nymphs, this underground body of water certainly holds a mystical feel to it, with the shining lake below the surface providing the reflected light of the sun. This particular photo captures the vertical layers of this locale, from the trees above to the waters below, along with the rough stone between.

@philography18 presents this gorgeous and sunny shot of Innsbrucker Hutte, far up in the Alps. The way the sunlight is captured by the camera really enhances the beauty of this location, a high place surrounded by stark peaks and vivid greenery. While isolation has become a necessity in this day and age, the vacation where you cut yourself off from the hustle and bustle of the world still has quite the appeal.

Our final pick of the week belongs to @joshuajacksphoto, presenting the tropical Hong Islands of Krabi, Thailand. From this vantage point, we can see the whole breadth and wonder of this particular island, with the other isles fading off into the horizon in the background. The bright blue waters contrast so well with the leafy hues and textures of the island tops, a visual combo that reminds us of great vacations from long ago. We’d love to visit this place someday, and experience the sun and sand and sea all over again. How about you?

That’s it for this week, be sure to visit us next week for a fresh batch of photos to admire and be inspired by. When it’s safe for you to travel again, why not showcase your own adventures?
