Vegan travel expeditions were an exciting development in the 2010s, and once this global situation is over, we can’t wait to go back on schedule with our plans to explore the world. The horizon beckons us even as we stay still at home, the promise of wonder always in the back of our minds, just waiting to spring out once it’s safe to do so. Welcome to this week’s Travel Tuesday blog.

This week, we’ve got a great selection of photos in store for you, gathered from the great folk of Instagram. We’ve got scenic roads, breathtaking mountains, and so much more for you to see.

Ready? Let’s go!

Our first pick of the week belongs to @memoirs_of_a_consciousness, presenting a sweeping view of the mountains near Alchi Village. Here the dark earth contrasts with the powdery white of the mountains, the cloudy sky above providing a sort of gloom that enhances the ridges of the hills and mountain sides. We love how the grayish sky sort of blends with the snow-covered peaks, as if the clouds were waves that crashed upon the stony shores of the earth.

Next up is @marioriccifotografia’s photo of two rocky isles from Faraglioni. There’s so much personality in these two stony natural structures, both giving off that strange vibe of seeing two inanimate objects as two friends standing side by side. We can also see that despite their similar composition, their erosion over time has altered them in different ways, with one forming a small “door” and the other standing tall with tapering “spires” shooting off its base.

The Faroe Islands never cease to amaze us. @spiceuptheroad presents this winding road through the breathtaking landscapes of this northern locale. From the vivid colors of the plain to the clouded peaks of the mountains, everything about this aerial photo is beautiful and aesthetically-satisfying. We can only imagine what it’s like to drive along such a gorgeous place.

@Eddieisontheroad presents a comfy photo of Mackenzie Falls, an Australian natural landmark that cascades in Zumsteins. While many waterfall photos are breathtaking and majestic because of their sheer size and magnitude, this waterfall achieves the same sort of majesty in how bright its environment is. The weather of this photo reminds us of even vacation days, where the wind is cool but not biting, and the sun is bright but not painful to the eyes.

Our final pick of the week belongs to @mixmr12, showcasing a picturesque snapshot of Les Houches. Here the natural world shines in a way that reminds us of a Romantic painting, but unlike such archaic figures of art, this masterpiece was produced not by human hands, but by the world itself. From the scattered clouds to the grassy foreground to the thick line of trees, each component of this photo contributes the striking visual of La Houches as a whole.

That’s it for this week, be sure to visit us next week for a fresh batch of great photos to admire and be inspired by. When it’s safe for you to travel again, why not showcase your own adventures? Just add the hashtags #TravelTuesday and #VacationingVegan on your future travel photos, and who knows, maybe you’ll be featured in a future blog!
