2021 is here! Let’s begin the new year with a hopeful outlook and a determined sense of adventure. Welcome to this week’s Travel Tuesday blog!

This week, we’ve got a great batch of photos to showcase, taken by the dedicated folk of Instagram. We’ve got locales that remind us of 2021’s brand new opportunities, from high cliffs to scenic waterfalls. The new year is rife for new experiences!

Ready? Let’s go!!

Our first Travel Tuesday pick of the year is by @raising3boysph, showcasing a wonderful aerial view of Secret Lagoon, Palawan. Here we see the natural cliffs seemingly surrounding a “pool” of the sky high above, like a mirror to the waters of the unseen lagoon. There’s something mystical about a body of water surrounded by high cliffs and stones, as if you were in the middle of somewhere remote and untouched by the changes of modern life.

@littlemiinjapan presents the Ochouzu Waterfall, which literally translates to “hand-washing waterfall.” It’s truly fascinating how water seems to change and transform as it moves, as evident by the ever-unique ways that waterfalls present themselves all over the world. This particular waterfall resembles grains of white sand cascading down the dark stones, as white as the snow that caps the trees and rocks. The imagery of this waterfall sure does live up to its cleansing reputation.

Gaze upon the stunning facade of Cape Pillar’s stony cliff face, courtesy of @taezer. The worm’s eye view really does give this locale a breathtaking and dynamic scope. The cliff tops look so far away and misty, while the stony bits near the bottom are darkened. A near-perfect contrast.

@johanna.abadie presents a shot from the cliffs (we’ve got a lot of cliffs for this week, don’t we?) of Bryce Canyon National Park. The sheer bright light of the sky beyond, the textures of the cliff faces, the single tree visible through the gap—just a scenic view all in all. National Parks have some of the best Instagram-worthy locales.

Our final pick of the week belongs to @monthida8, showcasing a wonderful sunrise from Phuket, Thailand. Here we see the pleasant glow of the ascending sun bask the land in its light, illuminating the morning mists and giving color and texture to the trees and leaves. A sunrise always looks different from the last, if there’s one thing that’s consistent throughout the last year, it’s that the sun will always appear after the night.

That’s it for this week. Be sure to visit us next week for a fresh batch of great photos to admire and be inspired by. When it’s safe to travel again, why not join in?
