Vegan travel is our passion, alongside our desire to create and promote delicious all-green cuisine. Even if we can’t physically visit great travel destinations at the moment, we can still show them to you, via great photographs from Instagram. Welcome to this week’s Travel Tuesday blog.

It’s summer in most parts of the world right now, and for this week, we’ve chosen 5 great photos that present the great locales of the world under varying degrees of sunshine, from the bright light of the morning to the fading hues of dusk.

Ready? Let’s go!

Let’s begin with somewhere hot, volcanically hot. @henrywalkcr presents this great shot of himself on the Poas Volcano of Costa Rica, an active stratovolcano within an acidic lake in the north, and a fertile crater lake (Lake Botos) to the south. We’re loving how the sunset plays with the aesthetic of the volcano crater, glowing at the other end of the curve. Volcanoes are some of the most awe-inspiring landmarks in nature, and we’re glad to have seen Poas Volcano’s majesty here in this photo.

Cannon Beach comes alive in this photo posted by @earthoessence. The shadowed rocks beyond the peaceful, linear waves of the shore look quite peaceful, especially when contrasted with the purple light of the fading sun. The dawn and the dusk are both equally beautiful things to witness, signalling a transition between the day that was and the night before the day to come. At home, we can at least watch the sun rise and the sun set unhindered.

Here we can see Stiniva Bay of Croatia, courtesy of @stiniva_vis. This shot seems to emphasize the clean blue waters of the Adriatic Sea, a deep hue that creates a sharp line across the horizon, contrasting with the textured greens of the grass-covered land. The Bay itself is nestled down below the white rocks, its natural beauty almost hidden by the wide scope of the photo. Vast landscape shots are always great when they put something else into perspective, like the size of a person, or a beach that people go to. It goes to show how nature is ultimately bigger than all of us.

@tehdino312 presents this great photo of Lanikai Pillbox. This scenic locale in Hawaii (specifically Kailua) is known to be a great hiking trail, considering the clean air and the view that it provides, such as this captured on camera. Here we see two islands nestled in light blue waters, beneath a billowing set of white clouds. There is always a sense of motion to be noticed in a good travel photo, and this shot of the Lanikai Pillbox almost makes us feel the cool tropical wind on our faces when we look at it.

The night is not always so dark and foreboding. Sometimes it looks quite nice. @markarnett__ presents our final Travel Tuesday pick, presenting a starry view of the night sky from Squamish, in British Columbia. The slightly-faded mountains, deep black trees and luminescent night sky work together to make an atmospheric photo. The distant glow of an urban area is also a nice touch, highlighting the remoteness of where the photo was taken. The stars may not write our fates, but gee they do look amazing.

That’s it for our Travel Tuesday this week. Be sure to visit us next week for a fresh batch of great IG photos. When it’s safe to travel again, why not participate in our weekly celebration? Just add the hashtags #TravelTuesday and #VacationingVegan on your future travel photos, and who knows, maybe you’ll be featured on a blog someday!

We’ve got a vegan cruise in store for you once the quarantine subsides. Check out our Danube River page for more information.
