Mondays may kickstart the week, but it’s only on Tuesday’s that things truly begin. While the former might represent the weekend’s end, the latter represents the return to a productive flow, a reestablishment of a schedule rhythm. There’s plenty of things that can help you animate yourself for the coming week, and this is one of them. Welcome to this week’s Travel Tuesday blog.

This week, we’ve chosen 5 great Instagram photos that showcase the wondrous hues of the world in stillness. A vegan travel vacation might be a later rather than sooner due to the current pandemic, but we’ve got just the great weekly gallery to browse in order to ease your arrested wanderlust.

Ready? Let’s go!

Let’s start off with something absolute mystical! @piyumi__ kickstarts our Travel Tuesday with a beautiful photo of a Sri Lankan forest, where the trees rise up into the mist. There’s an air of mystery and sense of sublime wonder to be found in the green places of the world, and this photo reminds us that there exists a great world to explore once we’re free to travel again.

Mala Fatra looks so vast and liberated in this shot by @roman.holba. We’re a sucker for sky-and-land contrast images, and the way that the green peaks slowly fade into blue as they disappear in the horizon just looks so dynamic. As most of us are indoors, such an image of a breezy, open air locale makes us feel longing.

@photoclassic.aberdeen presents Stac Pollaidh, Scotland, in a Rich brown roiling landscape shot reminiscent of a painting. The way the bodies of water look so much like sheets of solid glass make this mountain photo feel so distinct, as if its contours and textures have a roughness atypical to a regular landscape shot. We wonder what it would be like to step on that rough brown earth, staring up at one of Scotland’s mountains as the breeze catches our clothes.

Here’s a vibrant photo of the Kancamagus Highway by @master_the_lens_603. Just look at all those colorful leaves! They say that the journey is just as important as the destination, if not more so. What good is a car ride if all that you see at your sides is gray landscapes and colorless earth? It must be such an experience traveling through this highway, surrounded by nature’s hues.

The night sky above Lake McDonald shines with stars in @benningstuff great photo, a fitting conclusion for this week’s Travel Tuesday blog. Here we see the countless stars twinkle above the still waters of the lake, with the faintest suggestion of the curvature of the world in their patterns and positions. It’s no wonder our ancestors looked to the night sky for the answers to their fates, for how could one doubt the seeming permanence of the cosmos? Whatever you might believe in, don’t forget that you have the right to be here, that the world has so much to offer.

Well, that’s our Travel Tuesday blog for this week. Be sure to visit us next week for a new set of IG photos to admire and be inspired by.
