A dream is a strange thing to carry in your head after a long night’s sleep. Usually, it disappears when you sit down to eat your vegan dishes for breakfast, but sometimes, the imagery lingers. Sometimes, the dream persists. There are plenty of dreams that aren’t worth retaining, but many other dreams deserve to be preserved. The dream of traveling the world isn’t so far-fetched anymore, and it will come around eventually. Welcome to this week’s Travel Tuesday blog.

This week, we’ve got an exciting selection of wondrous photos to show you, gathered from the galleries of the great folk of Instagram. We’ve got scenic sunsets, gorgeous caverns, and so much more for you to feast your eyes on.

Ready? Let’s go!

Our first pick of the week belongs to @tupeaasa, presenting an atmospheric shot of Virgin Creek Falls. We can almost feel the chill of this Alaskan site, the textures of the trees giving off a sense of mystery to these verdant woods. From the stones to the leaves to the burbling creek, this photo is immersive and lively.

Our next pick is by @adamlackphoto and their marvelous shot of the Punakaiki Pancake Rocks. The way the light bends around these flattened stones evokes the imagery of abstract art, primal hues that are not confined to the air conditioned halls of an art gallery. One thing that we love about travel is the chance to immerse ourselves in such art up close.

Speaking of natural art, @thailand__vietnam’s shot of Son Doong Cave looks like a glimpse into an underground sculpture, except instead of human hands forming this art piece over a period of a few years or so, it’s a natural wonder sculpted over a hundred lifetimes. With tools of water, gravity and pliable stone, the caves have produced bas relief shapes in a place far from the surface, like castles beneath the earth.

@fifi_lerandonneur presents a staple locale in the Tour de France, a magnificent place called Col du Bonhomme. While the trail itself isn’t that visible from this vantage point, this photo doesn’t fail to capture the scale and size of the mountains themselves. Like the fins of a great stone beast, these rocky shapes rise above the grass and seem to touch the clouds.

Our final pick of the week belongs to @javiysony, showcasing a serene and striking sunset in La Conca. Here the twilight of the beach seems to eschew the typical extravagance of a regular sunset, with its vivid red and orange hues painted across cloud banks. Here, the setting sun isn’t even visible, but the soft violet hue of its passing can almost be felt, in how it reflects in the calm waters of the sea below.

That’s it for this week, be sure to visit us next week for a fresh batch of great photos to admire and be inspired by.
