In troubling times like this, it’s good to find small breaths of calm and happiness. In between browsing Facebook or watching videos on Instagram, changing up your online routine prevents you from getting tired of all the repetition that comes from staying indoors. Maybe water the garden, or read a physical book. For us, gathering admirable vegan photos is our small breath of calm and happiness, a reminder that life still has a lot to offer. Welcome to this week’s Food Friday blog.

This week, we’ve gathered five great plant-based food photos that remind us of the soft warmth of the morning, the comforting familiarity of a nice meal at breakfast. We’ve got salads, tofu and so much more in store for you this week.

Ready? Let’s go!

@anjkel presents our first entry for this week, a nice and lush salad full of various greens, such as spinach and watercress. What really crowns this great dish is the kimchi that tops it, the bright warm color of the spicy Korean food complementing the light and dark greens of the other ingredients. All we can really say is: Yum!

Is it too early for dessert? Well, not for us! @thisisthespicelife presents a tasty set of vegan chocolate mint fudge, a solid slab of sweet, plant-based goodness. There’s something amazing about mint and chocolate going together, the warm bitterness of cocoa mixing with the cool quality of the mint. Biting into these fudge slices must be heavenly.

Ah, oats and bananas, nutrient-rich ingredients that taste so good together. @katesnaturalworld presents these lovely vegan oats and banana-based pancakes, topped with the classic combination of blueberries and strawberries. Remember when we said that these food photos have a comforting familiarity to them? Well, this one just feels like an old friend.

@victoriousveganista presents this absolutely mouth-watering set of vegan sambouseks, a puff pastry dish that’s usually stuffed with meat, but in this case was graced with much more nutritious plant-based ingredients. We just love pastry-style recipes with rich fillings. Ah, to savor this on a warm morning!

Our final pick of the week belongs to @aka.kalindi, showcasing their scrumptious teriyaki tofu bowl. This great assortment of sesame-covered greens just looks so delicious. Some of us miss the restaurant experience, true, but with enough work and dedication, you can recreate the textures and tastes of your favorite orders. This food photo looks a lot like something that a professional restaurant chef would make.

That’s it for this week, be sure to visit us next week for a fresh batch of vegan food photos. Want to join in on our weekly gallery? Just add the hashtags #FoodFriday and #VacationingVegan on your future vegan food photos, and who knows, maybe you’ll be featured in a future blog!
