Are you feeling the spooky season? Well, even if the world is still feeling the effects of the current pandemic, we shouldn’t let such things put a damper on a season of fun and festivity. We’ve got vegan cuisine recipes and other such amenities that we can use to turn our time indoors into something worthwhile. Welcome to this week’s Food Friday blog!

This week, we’ve compiled five new vegan food photos that look like great sources of sweetness in a time of trick or treating. We’ve got cool cakes, tasty bite-sized snacks, and more in store for you in this week’s gallery. Savor something nice for the coming Halloween.

Ready? Let’s go!

Starting up this week’s gallery is a plate of lovely pandan kuih seri muka by @reneeongmusic. Have you ever tried pandan as one of your vegan desserts? It’s great! Kuih seri muka is a sticky Southeast Asian delicacy that uses glutinous rice and coconut milk to achieve its wholesome flavor. We guarantee you, sticky desserts like this are delicious!

Are you feeling blue? Well, make that color happy again with these nice Healthy Bounty Bars by @desert_baker. The use of indigo butterfly pea powder has made these raw vegan bars all the more appealing. Nothing like a good boost of energy from an eye-catching source of nutrients.

Have a taste of something with a vintage aesthetic! @sawobali presents this tasty coconut caramel butter cream-based cake, rendered with a hue and lighting that reminds us of old nostalgic tv shows. When you’re eating something, you’re not just taking in the flavor, but also how it’s presented. This Caramel Cake must have a particular taste to it, one that sets it apart from others of its kind.

Here’s something sort of different from this week’s gallery theme. @heybabevegan presents this sumptuous tortilla cake, made with cashew cheese, black lentils, sweet potatoes and more, just looks so filling. Oh yes, it is a “cake”, but it also provides savory visual goodness that we love.

Our final pick of the week belongs to @saaiyavegan, showcasing their comfy bowl of nectarines and other fruits. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and the way we nourish ourselves in the morning can sometimes carry over to how we carry ourselves throughout the rest of the day. Fruits are one of the best sources of energy for the busy person, and this humble bowl inspires us to continue making new fruit-based dishes that nourish and bring joy.

That’s it for this week, be sure to visit us next week for a fresh batch of food photos to admire and be inspired by. Want to join in? Just add the hashtags #FoodFriday and #VacationingVegan on your future IG food photos, and who knows, maybe you’ll be featured in this gallery one day!
