Everybody loves a wide selection of possible choices, be it the clothes that we wear or the kind of food that we prepare. One thing that people assume about the vegan diet is that you lose a lot of culinary options, which is absolutely not true. There are plenty of delicious vegan ingredients and cuisines out there, with easy vegan recipes to help you prepare them. There is always variety when it comes to vegan food. Welcome to this week’s Food Friday blog.

This week, we’ve chosen 5 great vegan food photos from the wonderful foodies of Instagram, photos that remind us of how versatile vegan ingredients are. We’ve got sweet meals, savory delights, and other flavorful dishes in store for you.

Feeling hungry? Let’s dig right in!

First up is @healingthrufood’s delectable umami dish of tofu, mushroom scallops, udon noodles and healthy green bok choy. This close up shot really emphasizes how well these ingredients stick together to form a mouth-watering meal. We can imagine ourselves chowing down on something like this with a pair of chopsticks. Yum.

Okra is such an underrated dish, we don’t often see it in our regular excursions through Instagram. Luckily for us, this exquisite vegan bhindi masala recipe by @hangrymc lets us admire some great okra cuisine. The coloring in particular is quite tantalizing, and belies the excellent spices and flavors that this meal must offer.

Sometimes, a simple aesthetic is enough to make vegan food stylish. These vegan chocolate doughnuts by @3vegans4life embody this principle, with the dark color of the doughnuts making the colorful dots stand out in a pleasing way. When it comes to sweet vegan snacks, you don’t have to overload it with extra designs. Sometimes you can just let its rich colors embody its deliciousness.

It’s been a while since we’ve covered a smoothie bowl, hasn’t it? Well, this choco banana bowl by @veggiesrchan certainly caught our eye, with its almost gradient placement of berries and nuts in a sweet soy milk concoction. It almost looks like a cake from this angle, an artistic piece of sweet vegan dessert.

@linzmotley presents our final vegan food photo of the week, a close-up shot of some appetizing homemade fried tacos. Based on the ingredients mentioned (avocado, jalapeno, etc) these tacos must have some serious bite to them. We miss walking down the street, chowing down on great vegan snacks like this as we listen to our favorite songs on our phones. However, staying at home at least can let us improve our cooking skills. These homemade tacos present an inspiration for vegans and vegan-curious people out there.
