“Tomorrow is another day” is an adage to live by, especially when each day feels longer than usual, due to staying indoors all the time. This makes the end of each week a special thing, because it means a break from your weekday obligations. We all want something to look forward to, after all. Welcome to this week’s Food Friday blog.
This week, we’ve selected five great vegan food photos that remind us of things to look forward to in life, whether it may be a culinary cruise vacation with friends or just a weekend of rest and relaxation. We’ve got fancy breads, sumptuous salads and much more for your eyes to feast on.
Feeling hungry? Let’s dig right in!
Let’s start up with this fresh and familiar-looking salad by @mascara_and_veggies348. Salads have this quality to them that makes them look brand new, yet retain a sense of intimate familiarity in their design. Maybe it’s because salads use a lot of common ingredients. Maybe it’s the familiar colors and textures of the veggies that they’re made of. Maybe it’s because of the almost universal experience of making a salad, a shared experience among vegans and vegan-curious people around the world.
@kitchenofplenty presents a delectable bowl of mouth-watering and gluten-free pasta. Just look at those chunky tomato bits, interspersed among the pasta strands and olives! The physical textures of a food photo are really what sells its quality, and this particular vegan pasta photo has really appetizing textures. We can almost smell the wonderful waft of veggies and herbs in this photo. Yum.
Next up is this charming vegan focaccia by gf_veganbeth, a well-designed piece of delectable vegan bread. We’re loving the creative placing of the onions, peppers, herbs and seeds. It looks like the painted tile of a rustic cottage was baked and became edible. We’ve talked about how good aesthetics makes a vegan dish look more appetizing, and this artful focaccia is a good example of that. The banquet shape was a nice touch.
We’ve seen hard tacos, soft tacos, and pizza-esque tacos, but what we don’t see often are cup-shaped taco meals. Lo and behold @elavegan’s great Taco Cups, topped with vegan cheese and stuffed with all the plant-based protein a working vegan could ask for. There’s a helpful URL to the recipe too. Oh, how we look forward to spoiling our palates with new vegan dishes. We miss serving vegan food to our friends during get togethers. What do you miss?
Our final pick is by @veganricha, showcasing another great salad recipe. Even with just a photo, we can tell that this roasted broccoli cauliflower salad is something to be experienced. The deep greens and golden hues of the oval bowl look heavenly. Digging into this plant-based dish must be quite a delight! There’s also a recipe URL, so we don’t have to wait any longer and just try it out for ourselves. There are a lot of things to look forward to in a day, and for us, it’s the chance to try some new vegan dishes for dinner.
That’s the end of our Food Friday blog this week. Be sure to visit us next Friday for a fresh batch of vegan food to admire and be inspired by. Want to join in on our weekly celebration of plant-based cuisine? Just add the hashtags #FoodFriday and #VacationingVegan on your next vegan food IG photo, and who knows, maybe you’ll be featured in a future blog!
